Day1: Arrival

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our team and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This day is for rest and preparation after your journey.

In the evening, you will meet your mountain guide for a detailed briefing about the trek. Your equipment will be checked, and final preparations will be made to ensure you are ready for the climb.

Enjoy a relaxed evening and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

  • Elevation: 1,870m to 2,700m
  • Distance: 8 km
  • Time: 4–5 hours

Your trek begins at Marangu Gate after registration. The trail passes through lush rainforest, where you may see monkeys and birdlife. You arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.


Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

  • Elevation: 2,700m to 3,720m
  • Distance: 12 km
  • Time: 6–7 hours

The forest gradually opens into moorland with wide views and unique vegetation such as giant lobelias. You continue to Horombo Hut, where you will spend the night.


Day 3: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut

  • Elevation: 3,720m

A rest day to help your body adjust to altitude. You can take a short hike towards Zebra Rocks or simply relax at the camp. This day is important for improving summit success.


Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

  • Elevation: 3,720m to 4,700m
  • Distance: 10 km
  • Time: 6–7 hours

The landscape becomes more rugged and barren as you cross the alpine desert. You arrive at Kibo Hut, where you rest and prepare for the summit attempt later that night.


Day 5: Summit Day – Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

  • Elevation: 4,700m to 5,895m then down to 3,720m
  • Distance: 22 km
  • Time: 10–14 hours

You start the climb around midnight. The ascent is slow and steady, reaching Gilman’s Point at sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, you descend back to Horombo Hut for overnight.


Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

  • Elevation: 3,720m to 1,870m
  • Distance: 20 km
  • Time: 5–7 hours

You descend through moorland and rainforest back to Marangu Gate. After registration, you receive your summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, you will have time to relax at your hotel depending on your flight schedule.

Our team will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. If you wish to extend your stay, optional activities such as safari or Zanzibar beach holidays can be arranged.
